Description:

Orserm 60mg Capsule is a medicine used as an oral contraceptive pill. It helps to prevent pregnancy as it does not allow implantation of the fertilized ovum to the womb (uterus).

In higher doses, Orserm 60mg Capsule is also used to control abnormal vaginal bleeding in women who have not attained menopause (end of the monthly menstrual period). This medicine is only taken once a week, either with or without food. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor is the right person to decide the exact dose, hence follow your doctor's advice.

It is a non-hormonal medicine with very minimal side effects but in some cases, it may cause irregularity in your menstrual cycle. If this bothers you or appears serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing this. Earlier taking this medicine let your doctor know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works.

Orserm 60mg Capsule should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from the body.

How and in what dose should I take Orserm 60mg Capsule?

You should take Orserm 60mg Capsule, as advised by your doctor. However, for contraception, you are required to take two tablets a week for the first 12 weeks ( for e.g. on Sunday and Wednesday), and then one tablet a week. It is also advisable to use condom, in addition to taking Orserm 60mg Capsule, for the period of the first 8 weeks of use.
