Description:

Novex DS Tablet is a medicine used as an oral contraceptive pill. It helps to prevent pregnancy as it does not allow implantation of the fertilized ovum to the womb (uterus).

In higher doses, Novex DS Tablet is also used to control abnormal vaginal bleeding in women who have not attained menopause (end of the monthly menstrual period). This medicine is only taken once a week, either with or without food. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor is the right person to decide the exact dose, hence follow your doctor's advice.

It is a non-hormonal medicine with very minimal side effects but in some cases, it may cause irregularity in your menstrual cycle. If this bothers you or appears serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing this. Earlier taking this medicine let your doctor know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works.

Novex DS Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Novex DS Tablet is a birth control pill. It acts by preventing the implantation of the fertilized ovum to the womb (uterus).

Novex DS Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

How and in what dose should I take Novex DS Tablet?

However, for contraception, you are required to take two tablets a week for the first 12 weeks ( for e.g. on Sunday and Wednesday), and then one tablet a week. It is also advisable to use condom, in addition to taking Novex DS Tablet, for the period of the first 8 weeks of use.

What if I miss my pill?
