Starpress MN 25mg/5mg Capsule XL is a combination of two medicines used for hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (heart-related chest pain) and chronic (long-term) heart failure. By lowering the blood pressure, it helps in preventing future heart attack and stroke.
Starpress MN 25mg/5mg Capsule XL can be taken with or without food, but try to have it at same time every day to get the most benefits. Retain taking it for as long as advised by your doctor. Even if you feel well, do not stop this medicine on your own because high blood pressure often has no symptoms. If you stop taking it, your condition may get worse. Retaining active with regular exercise, reducing your weight and eating a healthy diet will also help control your blood pressure. Follow your doctor’s advice while taking this medicine.
Rash, slow heart rate, headache and shortness of breath are some common side effects of this medicine. It may also cause dizziness, hence avoid driving or any attention seeking activity while taking this medicine. It is advised to avoid the intake of erectile dysfunction medicine such as sildenafil, tadalafil together with this medicine.
Earlier taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have liver or kidney disease, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. You might be asked for regular monitoring of blood pressure and blood sugar level while taking this medicine.

However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
