Description:

Ofsure R Oral Suspension is usually given to children to treat acute diarrhea caused due to bacterial infections. It helps relieve the symptoms, severity, and duration of illness by killing the diarrhea-causing microorganism and reducing the loss of water and electrolytes.

Donate Ofsure R Oral Suspension to your child orally either before or after food in the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. Usually, it is prescribed two times a day, in the morning and at bedtime. However, this dosing may vary depending upon your child’s symptoms, body weight, and age. Never double the dose to catch for the missed dose. However, you will have to repeat the dose if your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Ofsure R Oral Suspension. Refrain from repeating the dose if it is time for the next dose.

Some of the minor and short-term side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, skin rash, and itching. These episodes almost always subside on their own once the child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in case they persist for long or start bothering your child, you must consult your child’s doctor without any delay.

Your child’s doctor must be aware if your child has ever had any previous episode of allergy, bowel obstruction, electrolyte imbalance, heart problem, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This will guide the doctor in planning your child’s overall treatment.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Ofsure R Oral Suspension may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

My child has milk intolerance. Can I give Ofsure R Oral Suspension to my child?

It is not advised to give Ofsure R Oral Suspension to children who are intolerant to dairy products/milk as Ofsure R Oral Suspension contains lactose.

Can other medicines be given at the same time as Ofsure R Oral Suspension?

Ofsure R Oral Suspension can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Ofsure R Oral Suspension. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.

Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Ofsure R Oral Suspension ?

Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.

My child is suffering from long-term (chronic) diarrhea. Can I give Ofsure R Oral Suspension?

The use of Ofsure R Oral Suspension in chronic diarrhea has not been sufficiently studied. Therefore, it is best to consult your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
