Description:

Nexoheme Tablet is a combination of two medicines used for the treatment of iron deficiency and anemia. It helps the body make healthy new red blood cells and maintain iron levels in the blood. This supports overall health, improves vitality, and helps prevent complications related to low iron levels.

Nexoheme Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take it regularly and at the same time each day to get the most benefit. The dose and how often you take it will depend on what you are taking it for.  Your doctor will determine the right dose to help improve your condition. Continue taking the medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.

Ordinary side effects of Nexoheme Tablet include nausea, constipation, dark stools, and upset stomach. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them.

Let your doctor know about all the other medicines you are taking, as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. People who are allergic to iron should avoid this medicine. It should also not be used by those with certain iron storage disorders like hemosiderosis or hemochromatosis, or by those with bacterial infections. FAQs:

How long does Nexoheme Tablet take to work?

Nexoheme Tablet usually starts working within a few hours of taking it. If you are taking it for iron deficiency anemia, you may start feeling better after a few weeks of taking it. In case you are taking it during pregnancy, you may not notice any difference, but this does not mean that the dose is not working. Continue taking Nexoheme Tablet for the duration recommended by your doctor.

Can Nexoheme Tablet cause weight gain?

Animal studies on Nexoheme Tablet suggest that taking the medicine in excess, along with a high-fat diet, may lead to weight gain and fat accumulation. But this weight gain was not evident when taken along with a normal or low-fat diet, even with excess Nexoheme Tablet. In humans, similar studies have not been conducted, and therefore, knowledge regarding weight gain is lacking. Therefore, if you are on Nexoheme Tablet, then avoid excess Nexoheme Tablet and eat a low-fat meal to be on the safer side.

Why should women start taking Nexoheme Tablet before they become pregnant?

Keeping the right level of iron and folic acid in the body before getting pregnant reduces the risk of developing neural tube defects in the baby. The neural tube effect, in most cases, occurs when the structure (neural tube) from which the central nervous system develops (brain and spinal cord) in a baby does not form or is only partially closed. Full closure of the neural tube occurs at the end of the fourth week of pregnancy. Folic acid helps in the formation of neural tubes. Therefore, to prevent this defect, women should start Nexoheme Tablet four weeks before pregnancy.

Can I breastfeed while taking Nexoheme Tablet?

Affirmative, you can breastfeed while taking Nexoheme Tablet, as it is not harmful to the baby. Nexoheme Tablet contains folic acid as an active ingredient, which is naturally found in breast milk. It also contains iron, but iron does not pass through breast milk. Though initial levels of folic acid in breast milk are low, it eventually rises. Since it is actively secreted in breast milk, the mother may take Nexoheme Tablet every day to maintain the required levels. Communicate to your doctor if you have any questions related to nutrient supplementation in breastfeeding.

When should I take Nexoheme Tablet, in the morning or at night?

You can take Nexoheme Tablet any time of the day, but try to take it at the same time each day. This will help you remember to take it. Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The medicine should be swallowed as a whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, cut, or crush the medicine.

Can Nexoheme Tablet make you sick?

Generally, Nexoheme Tablet is well tolerated, and no side effects are reported in the majority of people. However, some may experience stomach and intestinal problems, which include nausea (feeling sick), dark-colored stools, and upset stomach or digestion issues. If you experience any of these symptoms, consult your doctor, but do not stop taking Nexoheme Tablet.
