Description:

Moxivion 400mg Infusion is an antibiotic, used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is also used in treating infections of the urinary tract, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia). It cures the infection by stopping further growth of the causative microorganisms.

Moxivion 400mg Infusion is given as an injection into a vein (intravenous), in cases where oral administration is not possible, such as in hospitalized or unconscious patients. It is administered by a healthcare professional. Compassionately do not self-administer. Avoid skipping any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

Some people may have a headache, dizziness, nausea, and diarrhea as side effects of this medicine. You may also notice some injection site reactions like pain, swelling, or redness. These are usually temporary and resolve on their own, but please consult your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it does not stop or if you find blood in your stools.

You should not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Special care should be taken in people with kidney problems while taking this medicine.

Side Effects:

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Alcohol

Pregnancy

Moxivion 400mg Infusion is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks.
Breast feeding
UNSAFE
Moxivion 400mg Infusion is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Moxivion 400mg Infusion may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Moxivion 400mg Infusion may make you feel dizzy or light-headed, you may experience a sudden, transient loss of vision, or you may faint for a short period. This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Moxivion 400mg Infusion is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
UNSAFE
Moxivion 400mg Infusion is unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided.
Limited information is available on the use of Moxivion 400mg Infusion in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
