Description:

Metaspas Oral Drops is a combination medicine used in the treatment of acidity-related abdominal pain. It works effectively to reduce abdominal pain, bloating, discomfort and cramps by relaxing the muscles of the stomach and gut. It also helps in easy passage of gas.

Metaspas Oral Drops is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea, dryness in mouth, blurred vision, weakness, and nervousness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your dizziness.

Earlier taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a marked dropper and take it as directed. Metaspas Oral Drops may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Earlier you start taking Metaspas Oral Drops, tell your doctor if you are allergic to this medicine or if you have problems with urination. Also inform your doctor if you have a bowel obstruction or severe constipation, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a serious heart condition or active bleeding. Your doctor should also be informed if you are breastfeeding or have glaucoma (eye disorder causing gradual loss of sight).

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when the stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophagus (the tube which connects your mouth and stomach). This backwash (acid reflux) can irritate the lining of your esophagus. Symptoms include chest pain (heartburn), usually after eating, which might be worse at night and difficulty in swallowing.

It is advised that you use Metaspas Oral Drops only when it is clearly needed. It is known that the medicine passes into breast milk and may have serious side effects on an infant younger than 6 months of age. Do not breastfeed while taking this medicine or else seek your doctor’s advice.

Can the use of Metaspas Oral Drops cause dryness in mouth?
