FAQs:

What is Izirize Solution for Injection, and how does it work?

Izirize Solution for Injection is a prescription cholesterol-lowering medication used in adults with high LDL cholesterol. It works by helping the liver remove more bad LDL cholesterol from the blood. Izirize Solution for Injection blocks a protein called PCSK9, which allows the liver to absorb and break down more LDL cholesterol and remove it from the blood.

How often is Izirize Solution for Injection given?

Izirize Solution for Injection is given as a subcutaneous injection (under the skin) by a healthcare professional. You get one dose at the start, another at 3 months, and then one injection every 6 months, making it a biannual cholesterol treatment.

Is Izirize Solution for Injection safe for people with kidney or liver problems?

Affirmative, Izirize Solution for Injection is generally safe for people with mild to moderate kidney or liver disease. However, if you have severe kidney or liver issues, your doctor will monitor you more closely. No dose changes are usually needed.

What should I do if I miss the Izirize Solution for Injection?

If your next Izirize Solution for Injection due is less than 3 months late, take it as soon as possible and continue your usual schedule. If it is more than 3 months late, your doctor will restart your treatment schedule.

What are the serious warnings or precautions for Izirize Solution for Injection?

The serious side effects of Izirize Solution for Injection are rare, but you should not take Izirize Solution for Injection if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. If you have severe liver or kidney issues, your doctor will decide if it is right for you.

How long does Izirize Solution for Injection take to lower LDL cholesterol?

Izirize Solution for Injection begins working within 14 days, and the full cholesterol-lowering effect is usually seen within 30 to 60 days after injection. Its effects are long-lasting, with LDL cholesterol still reduced after 6 months.

How does Izirize Solution for Injection differ from other cholesterol-lowering treatments?

Unlike daily oral medications, Izirize Solution for Injection requires only two to three injections per year, which may improve adherence for some patients. It works by targeting the production of PCSK9 in the liver. This way, the liver's ability to remove low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) from the blood is increased, offering an alternative mechanism for lowering LDL-C compared to other treatments.

Is Izirize Solution for Injection suitable for everyone with high cholesterol?

Izirize Solution for Injection is intended for adults who have not reached their cholesterol goals with lifestyle changes and maximum tolerated statin medication therapy. It is not recommended for individuals with certain conditions or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor to determine if Izirize Solution for Injection is right for you.
