Description:

Fentispor 600mg Capsule is an antifungal medication which treats vaginal infections. It works by killing the fungi in the vaginal by destroying their cell membrane.

Fentispor 600mg Capsule is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is best to use it at night time for better results.  Do not use the medicine for longer than your doctor has told you to and let him or her know if your condition does not improve after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment. The affected area should be clean before using the medicine. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better.

Some of the common side effects include vaginal burning sensation, itching and irritation. If the side effects bother you or do not go away, let your doctor know.

It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way it works but talk to your doctor before using it if you have used a similar medicine before and had an allergic reaction. This medicine should only be used if it is clearly needed during pregnancy.

No, Fentispor 600mg Capsule is neither an antibiotic nor a steroid. It belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals. It is used to treat candidiasis (thrush) occurring in the vulva and vagina.

Q. Does Fentispor 600mg Capsule have any effect on contraceptives?

Affirmative, Fentispor 600mg Capsule can damage condoms and diaphragms (barrier method of contraception), thereby affecting their efficacy. Therefore, instead of using these, you can use alternative methods of contraception such as contraceptive pills.

Q. How should Fentispor 600mg Capsule be used?

Fentispor 600mg Capsule should be used strictly as per the doctor’s advice. The usual dose of Fentispor 600mg Capsule is one applicator full in the morning and one applicator full in the evening for 3 days. Your symptoms may disappear quickly, but it is important that you continue using the cream for 3 days. Consult your doctor in case you have any confusion regarding the medicine, if your condition worsens or if there is no improvement.

Q. What should I do if the infection comes back?

Fentispor 600mg Capsule can be used again if the candidal infection returns after 7 days. However, if the candidal infection recurs more than twice within six months, you should consult your doctor whether it is candidal infection or something else.

Q. What precautions are necessary while using Fentispor 600mg Capsule?

Do not start treatment with Fentispor 600mg Capsule during menstruation as the cream will be washed off with blood flow. The treatment should be finished before the onset of menstruation. Do not use tampons, vaginal douches, spermicide or other vaginal products while using Fentispor 600mg Capsule.
