Description:

Fegus Vaginal Capsule belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of fungus and is used to treat infections of the vagina. It kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane.

Fegus Vaginal Capsule is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is best to use it at night for better results. Do not use the medicine for longer than your doctor has told you to, and let him or her know if your condition does not improve after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment. The affected area should be clean before using the medicine. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better.


Some of the common side effects include vaginal burning sensation, itching, and irritation. If the side effects bother you or do not go away, let your doctor know. It makes condoms and diaphragms less effective. Ask your doctor about a suitable birth control method.


It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way it works, but talk to your doctor before using it if you have used a similar medicine before and had an allergic reaction. This medicine should only be used if it is needed during pregnancy.

Directions For Use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Wash and dry your vaginal area. Lie on your back and gently insert the capsule into the vagina as high as possible with or without the use of an applicator as mentioned in the label.

No, Fegus Vaginal Capsule is neither an antibiotic nor a steroid. It belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals. It is used to treat candidiasis (thrush) occurring in the vulva and vagina.

What should I do if the infection comes back?

Fegus Vaginal Capsule can be used again if the candidal infection returns after 7 days. However, if the candidal infection recurs more than twice within six months, you should consult your doctor, whether it is a candidal infection or something else.

What precautions are necessary while using Fegus Vaginal Capsule?

Do not start treatment with Fegus Vaginal Capsule during menstruation, as the cream will be washed off with blood flow. The treatment should be finished before the onset of menstruation. Do not use tampons, vaginal douches, spermicide or other vaginal products while using Fegus Vaginal Capsule.
