Description:

Cefbact ES Injection is a combination medicine that is used to treat various types of bacterial infections. It prevents the growth of the microorganisms that cause the infection.

Cefbact ES Injection must be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Do not miss any scheduled appointments for taking this medicine. The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better, which will ensure a better recovery.

The common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. To overcome the side effects, it is advised to eat a healthy balanced diet and drink plenty of fluid. It may also lead to mild and temporary injection site redness and pain. If any of the side effects get aggravated, contact your doctor immediately. What is Cefbact ES Injection used for?

Cefbact ES Injection is used in hospitals to treat serious bacterial infections such as sepsis, pneumonia, abdominal infections (like peritonitis and biliary infections), urinary tract and kidney infections, bone and joint infections, skin and soft-tissue infections, ear–nose–throat infections, meningitis, and uncomplicated gonorrhea. It may also be given as a single pre-surgery dose to help prevent infection.

What serious side effects of Cefbact ES Injection need urgent care?

Perceivek immediate help if you notice signs of serious side effects of Cefbact ES Injection, such as severe allergic reactions (sudden rash, swelling of face/throat, trouble breathing), severe or bloody diarrhea (possible antibiotic-associated colitis), seizures, chest pain, or severe dizziness after rapid IV injection, or signs of severe skin reactions or anaphylactic shock.

Can Cefbact ES Injection cause gallbladder or liver problems?

At higher-than-standard doses of Cefbact ES Injection, it can form calcium salts that show up on scans like “gallstones” and may cause biliary symptoms. These usually resolve after stopping therapy and rarely need surgery, but doctors will decide whether to continue or stop treatment if symptoms occur.

Does kidney or liver disease change how Cefbact ES Injection is given?

If kidney function is markedly reduced (creatinine clearance less than 30 mL/min), the Cefbact ES Injection must be dose-adjusted. In combined severe kidney and liver dysfunction, the Cefbact ES Injection should also be dose-adjusted, and medicine levels in blood may be monitored closely.

Can Cefbact ES Injection cause antibiotic-associated diarrhea or colitis?

Affirmative, like other antibiotics, Cefbact ES Injection can cause diarrhea or colitis. Any new or severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, or fever during or after treatment should be reported immediately so treatment can be reassessed.
