Description:

Amoxylac Dry Syrup comprises one antibiotic and one probiotic medicine. It helps treat a multitude of bacterial infections, including those of the ears, eyes, nose, sinus, tonsils, tooth, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract.

Donate Amoxylac Dry Syrup either with or without food but it is best to give it with food if it upsets your child’s stomach. It is generally given three times a day. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor as these depend on the severity of the infection, its type, and your child’s body weight and age. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, repeat the dose when your child feels better. However, do not double the dose if it is the time for the next dose.

Amoxylac Dry Syrup can cause some minor and temporary side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, and mild skin rash. These side effects should ideally subside on their own. But, in case these side effects persist or become bothersome for your child, report to the doctor without a delay.

Tell your child’s doctor if your child has had any previous episodes of allergy, heart problems, blood disorders, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, gastrointestinal problem, skin disorder, and kidney malfunction. Information of your child’s medical history will help the dose make dose alterations and plan your child’s overall treatment.

FAQs:

Are there any possible serious side effects of Amoxylac Dry Syrup?

Although rare, Amoxylac Dry Syrup may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, and allergy. Forever consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.

Can other medicines be given at the same time as Amoxylac Dry Syrup?

Amoxylac Dry Syrup can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Amoxylac Dry Syrup.

Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Amoxylac Dry Syrup?

Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they fully recover from the illness. Post recovery from illness, the child can take the vaccine after consulting the doctor.

The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?

In the common cold, the mucus changes its color and thickens up with time, but this does not mean that your child needs antibiotics. Ordinary cold symptoms often last for 7-10 days. In case they fail to clear up within this duration, reach out to your child’s doctor for guidance.

Is Amoxylac Dry Syrup safe for children suffering from infectious mononucleosis?

No, do not give this medicine to your child in this case as a high percentage of children with infectious mononucleosis develop a skin rash (erythematous rash) while taking Amoxylac Dry Syrup.
