Description:

Xyzal Syrup belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. It is used to treat various allergic conditions such as hay fever, conjunctivitis, and some skin reactions such as eczema, hives, and reactions to bites and stings. It relieves watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and itching.

Xyzal Syrup can be given with or without food. Your required dose may depend on the condition being treated. While this medicine is generally best given to your child in the evening, always follow your doctor’s instructions for proper use. Continue giving for as long as the doctor has prescribed. If it is stopped earlier than advised, your symptoms may come back.


The most common side effects include feeling sleepy or dizzy, dry mouth, fatigue, fever, cough, vomiting, and diarrhea. These are usually mild and go away after a couple of days as your body adjusts to it. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects persist or worsen.


Earlier taking it, tell your doctor if you have any kidney problems or epilepsy (seizures). Your dose may need to be modified, or this medicine may not suit you. Self-assured medications may interact with this one, so inform your doctor about any other medicines you are taking. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before use, even though it is not considered harmful.

Directions For Use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Xyzal Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

No, although this medicine causes drowsiness as a side effect, it should not be given to induce sleep in children. Consult your child’s doctor if your child has trouble sleeping, as it could be due to some other underlying condition.

These may include allergic reactions (such as facial swelling and trouble breathing), signs of liver problems (such as dark-colored urine, yellow eyes or skin), excessive sleepiness, rapid heartbeat, hallucinations, feeling confused or hyperactive, trouble passing urine, irritability, and vision changes.
