Description:

Wupicap Cream is an antibiotic medicine used to treat certain skin infections such as impetigo (red sores), recurring boils, and others. It works by killing certain bacteria. This helps to improve your symptoms and helps clear the underlying infection.

Wupicap Cream is meant for external use only. Apply it only to the affected area of the skin as per the dosage and schedule prescribed by your doctor. To get the most benefit, apply it regularly, and preferably at the same time each day. Do not use larger amounts or apply it more often or for a longer duration than directed. Doing so may increase the risk of side effects.


Ordinary side effects of Wupicap Cream include application site reactions such as a minor burning sensation, irritation, and rashes. These side effects are usually temporary and subside with time. However, if they persist or worsen, consult your doctor.


Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. If the medicine accidentally gets into these areas, rinse thoroughly with water. Earlier using this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any previous history of allergy to it or any other medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using it.

Wupicap Cream is an antibacterial medicine and will only help if the diaper rash is due to bacterial infection.

What if I do not get better after using Wupicap Cream?

Inform your doctor if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine. If you do not feel better after finishing the full course of treatment, consult your doctor.

For how long do I need to use Wupicap Cream?

Employ Wupicap Cream for the duration advised by your doctor. The bacteria are normally cleared from your skin within 10 days of starting the treatment. Do not use it for more than 10 days. If your skin condition does not improve within 3-5 days, see your doctor.

How should I use Wupicap Cream?

After I applied Wupicap Cream, I felt burning and stinging sensations. Should I stop using it?

Burning sensation is a common side effect of applying Wupicap Cream. However, stinging is uncommon. It does not last long and will disappear after sometime. Do not stop using Wupicap Cream because of these mild side effects. If you have any concerns consult your doctor.

In which areas of the skin should I avoid using Wupicap Cream?

Wupicap Cream should not be used to treat infections in or near the eyes, nostrils, or mouth. If this medicine accidentally enters your eyes, wash your eyes thoroughly with water. In case you have tubes inserted in your body for the delivery of fluids or medicines (cannula), do not use this medicine to treat the skin near that area.

What should prompt me to stop using Wupicap Cream?

Wash off the medicine immediately if you get a raised and itchy rash, cough, shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing, fainting, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, or other parts of the body. These may be signs of severe allergic reactions. You should immediately stop using Wupicap Cream and consult your doctor. Though unlikely, if you get abdominal cramps and diarrhea, you should stop Wupicap Cream immediately and consult your doctor.
