Description:

Utreva Vaginal gel is prescribed to prevent miscarriage in women who experience vaginal bleeding in the first trimester and have a history of recurrent miscarriages. It supports early pregnancy by maintaining the uterine lining and creating a stable environment for the developing embryo.

Utreva Vaginal gel should be inserted deep into the vagina exactly as prescribed. Employ the medicine regularly and at the same time each day to maintain consistent support during early pregnancy. Treatment should always be guided by a doctor, and any ongoing bleeding or new symptoms should be reported promptly, as further evaluation may be required.

Most women tolerate Utreva Vaginal gel well. Limitedly, local side effects such as mild vaginal irritation, itching, burning sensation, or oily discharge may occur. These effects are usually mild and short-lived. If symptoms become bothersome or persistent, consult your doctor.

Utreva Vaginal gel should be used only during the first trimester for the prevention of miscarriage. Any vaginal bleeding should always be investigated before and during treatment. The medicine should not be used in women with undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, severe liver disease, hormone-dependent cancers, thromboembolic disorders, or known allergy to progesterone or any ingredient in the product.

FAQs:

Who should use Utreva Vaginal gel to prevent miscarriage?

Utreva Vaginal gel is prescribed for women who experience bleeding in early pregnancy and have a history of recurrent miscarriages. It is not intended for routine use in all pregnancies and should only be taken when advised by a doctor.

When should I start using Utreva Vaginal gel in pregnancy?

Treatment is usually started in the first trimester, often at the first sign of vaginal bleeding, and continued up to the 16th week of pregnancy, depending on medical advice.

How does Utreva Vaginal gel help in preventing miscarriage?

Utreva Vaginal gel helps maintain the uterine lining, keeps the uterus relaxed, and supports a stable environment for the developing embryo. Vaginal use allows the hormone to act directly on the uterus with lower exposure to the rest of the body.

Is vaginal discharge normal while using Utreva Vaginal gel?

Affirmative. A mild oily or whitish vaginal discharge is common with Utreva Vaginal gel and usually does not mean the medicine is not working. A panty liner may be used for comfort.

Can I stop Utreva Vaginal gel once bleeding stops?

No. You should not stop the medicine on your own, even if bleeding improves. Utreva Vaginal gel should be continued for the recommended duration to provide ongoing pregnancy support. Forever follow your doctor’s advice before stopping.

Can Utreva Vaginal gel prevent all miscarriages?

Utreva Vaginal gel does not prevent all miscarriages. It is helpful in specific situations, particularly in women with early pregnancy bleeding and previous miscarriages. Some miscarriages may occur due to causes that this medicine cannot correct.
