Description:

Tiostat Gel is an antifungal medication that treats vaginal infections. It works by killing the fungi in the vaginal by destroying their cell membrane.

Tiostat Gel is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is best to use it at night time for better results.  Do not use the medicine for longer than your doctor has told you to and let him or her know if your condition does not improve after 3 days of treatment. The affected area should be clean before using the medicine. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better.

Some of the common side effects include vaginal burning sensation, itching, and irritation. If the side effects bother you or do not go away, let your doctor know. Avoid direct contact with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water and seek immediate medical attention.

Do not take it if you are pregnant or could become pregnant unless your doctor has told you to. It makes condoms and diaphragm less effective, ask your doctor about effective birth control methods.

Q. Is Tiostat Gel safe to use in children?

Tiostat Gel is safe for use in children provided it is used in the recommended doses for the recommended period of time. Minor side effects may occur but usually they do not become bothersome. However, if you develop a burning sensation or areas of severe redness, itching, then stop the medicine and contact your doctor.

Q. What precautions are necessary while applying Tiostat Gel?

Forever thoroughly wash your hands before and after applying Tiostat Gel. If the feet are infected, they should be washed and dried thoroughly, especially between the toes, before applying Tiostat Gel. It should be applied to form a thin and uniform layer onto the affected areas daily and should be rubbed in gently.

Q. What measures should be taken for a fast recovery?

Retain the affected areas clean and dry and avoid excessive rubbing. The itchiness may give you an urge to scratch but avoid scratching as it will damage the affected surface, spreading the infection further. Do not share towels, bath mats, etc. with other people as you could spread the infection to them.

Q. For how long do I need to continue applying Tiostat Gel? Can I stop if the symptoms have completely disappeared?

The duration of the treatment depends on the type of infection. In general, the treatment is continued for 1 month for tinea infection and at least 15 days for candida infection. Do not stop the treatment on your own even if you feel better because the infection may come back as it takes some time to kill the fungus completely.

Affirmative, Tiostat Gel can cause side effects but not everyone gets affected by them. You may suffer from mild and transient rash or burning sensations that generally disappear rapidly.

Q. How to store Tiostat Gel?

Retain this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of the reach of children. The medication should be stored at room temperature (20°C to 25°C) and away from light, excess heat, and moisture (not in the bathroom).
