FAQs:
What is S-Transparent Lotion used for, and who can use it?
S-Transparent Lotion is an antibiotic skin medicine used to treat impetigo (a contagious skin infection) caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. It is approved for children from 2 months of age and older, as well as adults.
Can anyone apply S-Transparent Lotion to their skin?
No. Individuals should not use S-Transparent Lotion if they are allergic to ozenoxacin or any ingredient in the medicine. Forever check with your doctor first if you have a history of allergies to any medicine.
Are there important safety warnings I should know before using S-Transparent Lotion?
Prolonged or unnecessary use of S-Transparent Lotion can let non-susceptible bacteria or fungi grow on the skin. If a new infection appears while using S-Transparent Lotion, your doctor may stop it and choose another treatment.
Will S-Transparent Lotion get into my blood and affect other parts of my body?
Systemic (whole-body) exposure to S-Transparent Lotion is negligible after topical use, so it is not expected to have effects throughout the body in normal use. Most of the medicine stays in the skin.
Is S-Transparent Lotion suitable for babies and young children?
S-Transparent Lotion should be used in patients aged 2 months and older, and the safety profile in children was similar to that of adults. The safety and efficacy of S-Transparent Lotion in infants younger than 2 months have not been established.
What should I avoid doing when using S-Transparent Lotion?
Do not use S-Transparent Lotion in the eyes, mouth, nose, or vagina. It is for external skin use only. If the treated area must be covered, your doctor will advise whether a sterile dressing is appropriate.
How long is S-Transparent Lotion usually applied for, and what if the infection does not get better?
The usual S-Transparent Lotion regimen is 5 days, twice daily. However, your doctor will advise the dose and duration based on your skin condition and severity. If the infection does not improve or worsens, contact your doctor because the bacteria may be resistant, or another diagnosis may be needed.
Can S-Transparent Lotion cause serious side effects I need to watch for?
Earnest side effects with S-Transparent Lotion are rare. However, stop using it and seek medical help right away if you notice a severe rash, swelling, difficulty breathing, or other allergic reactions. In rare cases, it may also cause certain skin problems like redness (rosacea) or flaky skin (seborrheic dermatitis).
