Description:

Sarclor Syrup is a medicine that helps treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children. These may include infections of the ear, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, and urinary tract. It works by stopping the multiplication of infection-causing bacteria thereby preventing the infection from spreading.

To ensure maximum absorption, give Sarclor Syrup an hour before or two hours after meals. In case your child develops a stomach upset, it is better to give it with meals. Donate it as per the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor as these depend upon the type and severity of the infection. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of the intake, give the same dose again, but do not double dose if it is the time for the next dose.

Some temporary side effects of this medicine include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and mild skin rash. If your child develops these side effects, they should go away on their own. In case these side effects don’t subside on their own or become bothersome for your child, report to the doctor without any delay.

Let the doctor know if your child has ever had any previous episodes of allergy, heart problem, blood disorder, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, gastrointestinal problem, skin disorder, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. Being aware of your child’s medical history will help the doctor make dose alterations and plan your child’s overall treatment.

FAQs:

Q. Is it harmful if I give a double dose of Sarclor Syrup to my child?

It is always prudent to stay alert while giving medicines to your child because overdoses increase the risk of worsening the condition or causing unwanted side effects. Though an extra dose of Sarclor Syrup is unlikely to do harm, you should speak to a doctor to make sure that your child remains unharmed.

Q. Can Sarclor Syrup cause serious side effects?

Not usually, but rarely it may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.

Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Sarclor Syrup?

Sarclor Syrup can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Sarclor Syrup. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.

Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Sarclor Syrup?

Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.

Q. Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Sarclor Syrup on a long-term basis?

The doctor may prescribe getting kidney function tests and liver function tests periodically to keep a check on your child’s condition.

Q. Can Sarclor Syrup impact my child’s digestive system?

Affirmative, antibiotics are often accused of causing an upset stomach because while killing the bad bacteria they may unknowingly kill the good bacteria too. As a result, the working of the digestive system may get disrupted. This risk of developing stomach infections is higher in children because they often have a sensitive stomach. You can reduce this risk significantly by giving this medicine to your child with meals. In case your child is having diarrhea while on Sarclor Syrup, do not stop the medicine course. Instead, call your child’s doctor to ask about the next steps. In some cases, the doctor may alter the dose.
