Description:

Relax-M Tablet is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (symptoms include abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, and diarrhea or constipation). It prevents the sudden spasm of muscles to relieve stomach pain and cramps. It also promotes easy passage of gas to reduce stomach discomfort.

Relax-M Tablet is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are fatigue, confusion, uncoordinated body movements, skin rash, and slurred speech. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.

Lifestyle modifications like having fiber-rich diet, avoiding foods that trigger your symptoms, increasing fluid intake and regular exercise can help you to get better results. Earlier taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Directions For Use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Relax-M Tablet is to be taken on an empty stomach.

Side Effects:

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Affirmative, Relax-M Tablet may cause withdrawal symptoms. Do not stop taking Relax-M Tablet all of a sudden. Stopping Relax-M Tablet suddenly can cause seizures, shaking, stomach and muscle cramps, vomiting and sweating. Consult with your doctor before stopping Relax-M Tablet.

Can I drink alcohol while taking Relax-M Tablet?

No, avoid drinking alcohol while you are taking Relax-M Tablet. Drinking alcohol can increase the risk of side effects like drowsiness or sleepiness.

Can the use of Relax-M Tablet cause sleepiness or drowsiness?

Relax-M Tablet should not be taken along with opioid-like substances as it contains chlordiazepoxide. Inform your doctor about all the medicines that you are taking if you are advised to take Relax-M Tablet.

What are the symptoms of overdose of Relax-M Tablet?

Both Mebeverine and Chlordiazepoxide show different symptoms of overdose. Chlordiazepoxide can cause sleepiness, reflexes, confusion and coma. Whereas, Mebeverine can cause CNS excitability which is mild and reversible. Inform the doctor in case you take a higher dose and any of these symptoms appear.

Can the use of Relax-M Tablet cause constipation?

Affirmative, the use of Relax-M Tablet can cause constipation. Eat high-fiber foods like vegetables, fruits and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise regularly by engaging in activities like swimming, jogging or taking a walk. Consult a doctor if the constipation persists for a long duration.

What are the instructions for storage and disposal of Relax-M Tablet?

Retain this medicine in the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.
