Description:

Raparen Injection is used for prevention of organ rejection in transplant patients. It works by regulating the body’s immune response following organ transplant. This helps your body to accept the new organ as if it were your own.

Raparen Injection is a prescription medicine that must be administered by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital or a clinical setting. You must receive the exact dose of it as per the prescription. An overdose of this medicine may have serious side effects on the body.

The common side effects of this medicine include headache, increased heart rate, high blood pressure, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, rash, joint pain, increased risk of infections, decreased blood cells, and decreased potassium level in blood. If any of the side effects persist or get worse, consult the doctor immediately. Inform the doctor immediately if you experience any allergic reactions such as rash, shortness of breath, coughing, and swelling.

Earlier taking this medicine, it is important to consult your doctor if you have any ongoing medication for any underlying disease. Pregnant and breastfeeding women must inform the doctor prior to the initiation of this treatment. During the treatment, your doctor may advise you for some laboratory tests to know the effects of the medicine in the body. If you notice signs of infection, any changes in the appearance or size of a mole, unusual growths or lumps, or unusual tiredness or weakness during the treatment, you must consult the doctor immediately.

Directions For Use:

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Compassionately do not self administer.

Side Effects:

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

  • Stomatitis (Inflammation of the mouth)
  • Sepsis
  • Kidney infection
  • Cytomegalovirus infection
  • Non-melanoma skin cancer
  • Hemolytic uremic syndrome
  • Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils)
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Pericardial effusion
  • Venous thrombosis
  • Pulmonary embolism
  • Joint pain
  • Pneumonitis
  • Pleural effusion
  • Nosebleeds
  • Pancreatic inflammation
  • Ascites (accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity)
  • Osteonecrosis (reduced blood flow to the bones)
  • Ovarian cysts

Pregnancy

Raparen Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Raparen Injection is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
CAUTION
Raparen Injection may cause dizziness or weakness due to low blood pressure. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Raparen Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Raparen Injection is recommended.
Liver
CAUTION
Raparen Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Raparen Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Dose adjustment is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
