FAQs:

What is Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet, and what is it used for?

Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet is a combination painkiller used for short-term relief of moderate to severe pain, such as pain after surgery, injury, or severe muscle and joint pain. Tramadol works by acting on pain receptors in the brain and spinal cord to reduce the intensity of pain. Paracetamol works by blocking certain chemical signals in the brain that cause pain and fever. Together, they provide stronger and faster relief than either medicine alone.

Who should not take Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet?

Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet should not be used by children under 12. It should also be avoided if you have severe asthma, breathing problems, liver disorders, or epilepsy. If you are pregnant or if you drink excessive alcohol, this medicine may not be safe for you. Consult your doctor and share your complete medical history before starting this medicine.

Is Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet habit-forming, and can it cause addiction with regular use?

Affirmative. Since Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet contains tramadol, which is an opioid painkiller, it may cause tolerance, dependence, or addiction if used for a long time. You may feel the need to take more than the prescribed dose or use it for reasons other than pain relief. Forever use it only as directed by your doctor.

Can Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet cause drowsiness or dizziness that affects driving?

Affirmative. It may impair the mental and physical abilities needed for driving and operating heavy machinery. Side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, and slowed reaction times are common, particularly at the start of treatment or after a dose increase. Avoid driving while taking Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet.

Is Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet safe for people with kidney or liver problems?

Both the kidney and liver play critical roles in processing and clearing this medicine from the body. If either organ is not functioning properly, the medicine can accumulate in the body, increasing the risk of serious side effects. If you have kidney or liver disease, take Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet only if your doctor prescribes it.

Can children or elderly patients take Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet?

Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet is contraindicated (must not be used) in all children under 12 years of age. It is also contraindicated in patients under 18 years of age who have had a tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy (throat or nose surgery), due to a significantly increased risk of life-threatening breathing problems. Elderly patients may take this medicine after consulting their doctor.

Is Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet safe for patients with a history of seizures or epilepsy?

Tolerants with epilepsy or a history of seizures may face an increased risk of experiencing a seizure while taking Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet. The seizure risk further increases when it is taken alongside certain medicines like antidepressants. Do not take Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet without consulting your doctor.

Can Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet cause constipation or difficulty in bowel movements?

Affirmative. Constipation is one of the most common side effects of Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet. Consult your doctor if constipation becomes severe or if you develop abdominal pain and bloating. If you notice that you have not had a bowel movement for 3 or more days, contact your doctor.

Can I stop taking Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet suddenly after using it for several days?

No. Do not stop taking Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet abruptly after taking it for more than a few days, as this may be unsafe. Because it is an opioid, the body can become physically dependent on it quickly. When the medicine is stopped suddenly, the body may produce withdrawal symptoms such as sweating, anxiety, insomnia, and tremors.

Can I use Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet for long-term management of chronic back pain?

No. Usually, doctors prescribe Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet for short-term use (generally up to a few days). In certain conditions, your doctor may prescribe it for longer durations depending on the severity of the condition and the type of diagnosis. If you have chronic back pain, discuss a comprehensive pain management plan with your doctor. Using opioids such as Profinex P 37.5mg/325mg Tablet as the primary long-term strategy is generally not recommended.
