Description:

Primolut-N Tablet is used to treat various menstrual problems including painful, heavy, or irregular periods, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and a condition called endometriosis. It is a man-made version of the natural female sex hormone progesterone.

Primolut-N Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at the same time each day. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need so as to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed to you.

Uses:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Primolut-N Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Directions For Use:

  • Primolut-N Tablet regulates menstrual cycles and treats a wide range of menstrual disorders such as heavy, painful periods and endometriosis.
  • It may cause bleeding or spotting in between menstrual periods. Let your doctor know if this occurs frequently.
  • Stop taking Primolut-N Tablet and inform your doctor immediately if you get severe headaches, stabbing pains or swelling in one leg, pain while breathing, yellowing of your skin or sudden changes in your vision or hearing.

Side Effects:

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Yes, Primolut-N Tablet may reset your cycle. It is usually given for about 10 days to help manage heavy periods. Usually, your periods will resume within 3 days after stopping the medication. Your body may correct itself after 3-4 cycles and your period cycle may resume as before.

Q. Can you bleed while taking Primolut-N Tablet?
Yes, Primolut-N Tablet may cause breakthrough bleeding or spotting in some cases. This more likely occurs if the medicine is not taken as prescribed, such as taking lower than prescribed dose or not taking it 3 days before your periods start. It is, therefore, very important that you take Primolut-N Tablet as prescribed.

Primolut-N Tablet is advised to patients having heavy periods or prolonged periods. The usual dose is prescribed to be taken 3 times a day for 10 days. The bleeding will stop usually within 48 hours of taking it. However, consult your doctor if the bleeding continues.
