Description:

Planetica 50 Injection is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of ovarian, cervical, and testicular cancers. It works by stopping or slowing down the growth of cancer cells in the body.

Planetica 50 Injection is given as an injection into veins by a qualified medical professional. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

Injection site reaction (pain, swelling, redness), nausea, and vomiting are some common side effects of this medicine. Hearing problems or ear damage is a serious side effect of this medicine, hence your doctor might get a hearing test both before and during treatment with this medicine. It may reduce the number of blood cells (decrease red blood and white blood cells) in your blood, thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with heart, liver, and kidney function.

Earlier taking this medicine, let your doctor if you have or had kidney disease as the medicine affects the functioning of the kidney.  Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It may cause infertility in men, hence they should seek medical advice about sperm freezing before beginning treatment.

Employ a moisturizer to get relief from rashes, dry and itchy skin. Avoid direct sunlight, wear protective clothing, and use sunscreen with (SPF more than 15) whenever you step outdoors. Do not go swimming if you have a rash because the chlorine in the water can make it worse. Avoid hot water bath and wear loose and cotton fabric clothes. Your skin will tend to become better once treatment is stopped.

I am experiencing nausea and vomiting. Is this due to Planetica 50 Injection?

Nausea and vomiting are some of the common side-effects of this medicine. Your doctor might prescribe you medications to prevent you from feeling sick. Your symptoms will be better managed if you take your medication regularly to prevent sickness rather than use it only when sickness occurs. Along with that, eat smaller, more frequent meals to reduce the feeling of nausea. Avoid food that is salty, spicy, fried, or fatty, and drink plenty of water.

Can I drink alcohol while taking Planetica 50 Injection?
