Description:

Nucarnit Tablet belongs to a class of medications called amino acids. It is used in the treatment of carnitine deficiency. It helps the body produce energy and improve the efficiency of body function.

Nucarnit Tablet should be taken with food and it should be chewed thoroughly before swallowing. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not start or stop taking this medicine without a doctor's prescription.

Nucarnit Tablet is usually a safe medicine, however, it may cause nausea and vomiting. Your doctor may suggest you to monitor your blood glucose levels regularly while you are taking the medicine.

Earlier starting the medicine, inform your doctor if you have any other medical conditions or are taking any other medications. Tolerants with severe kidney disease should not take this medicine unless prescribed by the doctor.

Is Nucarnit Tablet a steroid?

Nucarnit Tablet is not a steroid. It contains Levo-carnitine which is a type of amino acid (made from the amino acids lysine and methionine). It helps in transporting fats to the cells, where fats get metabolized in order to produce energy. It is used to treat primary and secondary Levo-carnitine deficiency.

When can a carnitine deficiency occur?

Carnitine deficiency may be of two types, primary and secondary. Primary is genetic and may show symptoms by five years of age. Whereas, secondary may occur due to certain disorders like kidney problems (chronic kidney failure) and use of antibiotics that reduces its absorption and increases its excretion.

Does warfarin have any effect on Nucarnit Tablet?

In some patients, warfarin when taken along with Nucarnit Tablet may increase the time required for the formation of blood clot. Hence, before starting Nucarnit Tablet, inform your doctor if you are taking warfarin.

What is the best time to take Nucarnit Tablet?

Nucarnit Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. Generally, it is advised to be taken 3-4 times daily, preferably with meals or after meals.

Can Nucarnit Tablet be taken by diabetics?

Affirmative, Nucarnit Tablet can be taken by patients with diabetes. However, it is important to know that it contains sucrose. Some studies have shown that it may improve insulin sensitivity. Along with that, it may also be helpful in relieving nerve pain.

Does Nucarnit Tablet cause diarrhea?

Nucarnit Tablet may very rarely cause diarrhea. This effect of the medicine can be reduced by decreasing the dose of Nucarnit Tablet. But, if you are taking oral solution then take it slowly or dilute it more.
