Description:

Nidcal CL Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of osteoporosis. It prevents bone loss and makes the bones stronger. This way it helps prevent bone fractures.

Nidcal CL Tablet is best taken on an empty stomach. You should take it regularly at a fixed time each day. Taking it at the same time every day will help you remember to take it. It may take several days to get the full benefit of this drug. Do not stop taking the medicine until your doctor tells you it is right to stop. This medicine may only be part of a treatment program that may also include changes to your diet and taking other medicines and vitamin supplements.


The most common side effects of Nidcal CL Tablet include headache, back pain, musculoskeletal (bone, muscle, or joint) pain, indigestion, heartburn, and diarrhea. These are generally mild and usually resolve on their own. If they do not go away or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the side effects.


Earlier using Nidcal CL Tablet, let your doctor know if you have any medical conditions or disorders. To make sure the medicine is safe for you, let your doctor know all the other medicines you are taking. You should take Nidcal CL Tablet first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with a full glass of water (not juice/coffee).

Who should not take Nidcal CL Tablet?

Individuals should avoid using Nidcal CL Tablet if they are allergic to any of its ingredients. It should also be avoided in cases of high blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia), severely reduced kidney function, or bone softening not caused by vitamin D deficiency. Increaseitionally, people with esophageal problems (such as difficulty swallowing or a very narrow food pipe) or those unable to stand or sit upright for at least 30 minutes should not use Nidcal CL Tablet.

What should I avoid while taking Nidcal CL Tablet?

While taking Nidcal CL Tablet, avoid lying down for at least 30 minutes afterward, as it may irritate your food pipe. Do not take calcium, antacids, or iron supplements within 2 hours of this medicine, as they can reduce its absorption. Also, avoid taking it with milk or dairy products, as they may interfere with how well it works.

What are the serious side effects of Nidcal CL Tablet I should watch out for?

During Nidcal CL Tablet treatment, contact your doctor immediately if you experience chest pain or difficulty swallowing, as these may be signs of esophageal damage.
