Description:

Mucosooth Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of respiratory disease with excessive mucus. This medicine helps reduce mucus secretion in various lung diseases such as bronchitis, asthma, and emphysema.

Mucosooth Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depend on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Dissolve the tablet in a glass of water and drink it immediately. Take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.

The most common side effects of this medicine include fever, nausea, vomiting, rash, and gastrointestinal discomfort. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Generally, it is advised to drink plenty of fluids while on treatment with this medicine.

Earlier taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you suffer from asthma, as close monitoring is required while taking this medicine. How long can you take Mucosooth Tablet for?

The duration of treatment with Mucosooth Tablet will be decided by the doctor. It will depend on the type of disease for which it has been prescribed. For respiratory conditions, it can be taken for 5 days and can be further extended to 2 weeks depending upon the condition of the patient.

Can Mucosooth Tablet be given to children below 2 years of age?

Medicines like Mucosooth Tablet are not recommended to be used in children under 2 years of age. This is because the medicine works by dissolving the mucus which can cause a block in the breathing airway, and children below 2 years of age may not be able to clear it or cough it out properly. Still, in certain conditions it can be prescribed by your doctor, hence, follow the instructions as provided. Consult the doctor for any query.

Can I take cough syrups while taking Mucosooth Tablet?

No, you should not start taking cough syrups without consulting your doctor. The cough syrups which suppress the cough should be avoided with this medication as it would interfere with the action of the medicine. How is Mucosooth Tablet administered?
