Description:

Mone S 0.1% Ointment is a prescription medicine having a combination of medicines that are used to treat eczema and psoriasis. It helps to provide relief from redness, itching and swelling. It removes dead skin cells and helps in softening the skin.

Mone S 0.1% Ointment should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Wash your hands before using this medicine. It is advised to check the label for directions before use. It is for external use only.

Do not use this medicine more than the recommended dose. Inform your doctor if you have known allergies from this medicine. The common side effects of this medicine include dry skin, burning, itching, irritation and redness at the application site.

If these side effects or any other symptoms which you think are because of this medicine persist for a longer duration, please consult your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or are suffering from any other disease. This medicine is safe to use in breastfeeding mothers.

Mone S 0.1% Ointment is for the initial treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis (a scaly, itchy, red skin condition). It combines a potent steroid (mometasone) and a keratolytic (salicylic acid) to help manage this skin condition.

Who should not use Mone S 0.1% Ointment?

Individuals should not use Mone S 0.1% Ointment if they are allergic to mometasone, salicylic acid, or any ingredient present in it. It is also not to be used where there is an untreated bacterial, viral (e.g., cold sores, chickenpox), fungal, or parasitic skin infection, and in conditions such as perioral dermatitis, rosacea, acne vulgaris, post-vaccination skin reactions, skin atrophy, ulcers, wounds, or stretch marks.

Are there age limits to use Mone S 0.1% Ointment, and can children use it?

Mone S 0.1% Ointment is indicated for adults and adolescents 12 years and older. Securety and effectiveness in children under twelve have not been established, so it should not be used in younger children unless a specialist advises otherwise.

Could Mone S 0.1% Ointment cause serious side effects?

With prolonged or large-area use of Mone S 0.1% Ointment, the steroid present in this medicine can be absorbed and may cause adrenal (HPA-axis) suppression or other hormone effects. Also watch for severe allergic reaction, sudden worsening of the skin (a sign of hidden infection), or visual problems like blurred vision. These need medical attention.

Will Mone S 0.1% Ointment make a skin infection worse or hide an infection?
