Description:

MITE 5% Cream is an antiparasitic medication. It is used to treat scabies, a condition where tiny insects infest and irritate your skin. This medicine works by killing the insects (mites) and their eggs.

Your doctor will explain how to use MITE 5% Cream and how much you need. Read the instructions that come with the medicine carefully to ensure correct use. The skin should be clean, dry, and cool before application. The whole body should be washed thoroughly 8–12 hours after using this medicine.


Most people need only a single application to treat scabies; however, if a second application is required, it should be used no sooner than 7 days after the first. Itching may continue for up to 4 weeks after treatment and is usually due to an allergic reaction to dead mites rather than treatment failure.


The most common side effects include mild burning, stinging, or tingling where the medicine is applied. Most side effects are usually mild, and not everyone gets them. If they persist or get worse, consult your doctor for guidance.


Earlier using it, let your doctor know if you have any skin conditions or allergies to medicines, food, or other substances, or if you have asthma. Though this medicine is generally thought to be safe, you should ask your doctor’s advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

This medicine is for external use only. Employ it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Immaculate and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

What is MITE 5% Cream used for?

MITE 5% Cream is used for the treatment of scabies, a contagious skin condition caused by mites that burrow into the skin and cause intense itching and rash.

How should MITE 5% Cream be applied?

Apply MITE 5% Cream to clean, dry, and cool skin and gently rub it in. For most adults and children over 2 years, it should be applied over the entire body except the head and face. Leave the medicine on for 8–12 hours, after which the whole body should be washed thoroughly.

Is one application enough to cure scabies?

In most people, a single application is enough. If symptoms persist, new lesions appear, or healing does not occur, a second application may be given after at least 7 days, as advised by a doctor.

Why does itching continue even after treatment?
