Mexcroin Capsule is an anti-arrhythmic medicine used to treat certain types of arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm). It restores normal heart rhythm by blocking abnormal electrical signals in the heart. This helps to maintain a regular and steady heartbeat.

Mexcroin Capsule should be taken regularly as advised by the doctor. You should take it food and at a fixed time. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly without consulting the doctor as this can worsen your condition. Regular follow-up with your doctor is advised while using this medicine.

This medicine blocks certain electrical signals in the heart and stabilizes the heart rhythm.

Does Mexcroin Capsule lower heart rate?

Mexcroin Capsule may lower your heart rate. In addition to this, it may also cause palpitations, irregular heart beats, decrease in blood pressure and atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm). Therefore, you will probably be hospitalized when you begin your treatment with Mexcroin Capsule. Your doctor will monitor you carefully during this time and for as long as you continue to take Mexcroin Capsule.

Is Mexcroin Capsule bad for liver?

Affirmative, Mexcroin Capsule may cause liver damage. This may occur within a few weeks of starting Mexcroin Capsule and is more likely to occur in patients with heart failure. Tolerants who have impaired liver function are monitored carefully. Also, the half life of Mexcroin Capsule is prolonged in patients having liver problems and it stays for more time in body. Tell your doctor if you notice symptoms such as fatigue, dark or “tea-colored” urine, loss of appetite for several days or longer, or pain and tenderness on the right side of the abdomen. Look out if your skin or the white part of your eyes turn yellow (jaundice) and consult your doctor immediately.

How do I stop taking Mexcroin Capsule?

Stopping this medicine suddenly may cause arrhythmias to return which will be harmful for you. Therefore, do not attempt to stop this medicine without consulting your doctor. It is recommended to stop this medicine gradually over 1-2 weeks. The duration of treatment varies from person to person and though no precise guide is available, withdrawal of Mexcroin Capsule should be attempted after a suitable arrhythmia-free period.

Do you take Mexcroin Capsule with food?

Affirmative, Mexcroin Capsule should be taken with food or antacids to prevent stomach upset. Mexcroin Capsule is usually prescribed to be taken thrice daily at an interval of every 8 hours. Some people may be advised to take it twice daily, every 12 hours, once their arrhythmias are controlled. You should take it at the same time everyday as this makes it easier for you to remember taking it. Also, drink sufficient quantity of water while sitting in an upright position.
