Description:

Meclomide Suspension is a prescription medicine used to treat nausea, vomiting, indigestion, and heartburn. It prevents the feeling of fullness during or shortly after a meal and helps reduce symptoms caused by the flow of the stomach contents back into the food pipe.

Meclomide Suspension is taken before meals preferably at bedtime in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should take this medicine until your doctor tells you to stop. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are restlessness, fatigue, and weakness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It also causes drowsiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness. This medicine may also cause diarrhea, so it is better to take plenty of fluids while taking this medicine as it may help to prevent dehydration.

Earlier taking this medicine, you should let your doctor know if you have liver or kidney problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor.

Directions For Use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Meclomide Suspension is to be taken empty stomach.

Side Effects:

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Pregnancy

Meclomide Suspension is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Meclomide Suspension is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Meclomide Suspension may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Meclomide Suspension may cause drowsiness, dizziness, dyskinesia and dystonias which could affect the vision and may interfere with the ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Meclomide Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Meclomide Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Meclomide Suspension is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Meclomide Suspension may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Meclomide Suspension can help in relieving morning sickness. However, this is not an approved indication for its use. There are other medicines also available to treat morning sickness. Can I take Meclomide Suspension with ranitidine?

Meclomide Suspension can be taken with ranitidine. No drug-drug interactions have been reported between the two. However, interactions can occur. Communicate to your doctor before taking the two medicines together.
