Description:

Lenome 25mg Capsule belongs to a group of medicines that affect how your immune system works. $It is used in the treatment of multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndrome.

Lenome 25mg Capsule can be taken with or without food, but try to have it at the same time every day to get the most benefits. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

Some common side effects of this medicine include headache, weakness, nausea, rash, and dizziness amongst others. This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells (decrease red blood and white blood cells) in your blood, thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections or bleeding. Hence, take caution while performing the activity that might increase your chances of bleeding or avoid contact with people suffering from an infection such as a cold. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells while on treatment.

Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy. You are advised to drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated while taking this medicine.

Driving

UNSAFE

You may feel dizzy, tired, sleepy, have vertigo or blurred vision after taking Lenome 25mg Capsule and this may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Can I take Lenome 25mg Capsule empty stomach?

Lenome 25mg Capsule may be taken with or without food. Forever take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not crush, cut or chew the capsules. Swallow it whole with water. You should take Lenome 25mg Capsule at about the same time on the scheduled days.

Can Lenome 25mg Capsule be given to patients who are on dialysis?

Affirmative, Lenome 25mg Capsule is given to dialysis patients after the dialysis is done. However, the doctor may adjust the dose if needed in patients undergoing.

What are the side effects of Lenome 25mg Capsule?

Lenome 25mg Capsule may cause side effects which include diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, weakness, dizziness, change in ability to taste, and pain or burning of the tongue, mouth, or throat. The medicine may also cause decreased sense of touch, burning or tingling in the hands or feet, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, depression, and joint, muscle, bone, or back pain. You may also experience sweating, dry skin, abnormal hair growth in women, uncontrollable shaking of a part of the body, decrease in sexual desire or ability or painful, frequent, or urgent urination. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away.

Can Lenome 25mg Capsule cause cancer?

People with multiple myeloma (a form of cancer that begins in plasma cells, a type of white blood cell) who receive melphalan (chemotherapy) and a blood stem cell transplant with the addition of Lenome 25mg Capsule have a higher risk of developing new cancers. These types of cancers may include certain blood cancers (acute myelogenous leukemia or AML) and a type of lymphoma called Hodgkin lymphoma. Communicate to your doctor about your risk of developing new cancers if you are taking Lenome 25mg Capsule.

Do I need to get any blood tests done while on Lenome 25mg Capsule?

Your doctor will ask you to have a blood test before treatment and every week for the first 8 weeks of treatment. You may need to continue taking the blood tests at least every month after treatment with Lenome 25mg Capsule ends. Frequent blood tests are important as Lenome 25mg Capsule may decrease the blood cells that help fight infection (white blood cells) and help the blood to clot (platelets).

Do I need to use birth control methods while using Lenome 25mg Capsule?

Women who can become pregnant must use two acceptable forms of birth control for 4 weeks before they begin taking Lenome 25mg Capsule. Continue using contraceptives during your treatment, including the times when your doctor tells you to temporarily stop taking Lenome 25mg Capsule, and for 4 weeks after your final dose. In men, Lenome 25mg Capsule may pass into the semen while they are on treatment. Therefore, men must always use a latex condom every time they have sexual contact, even if they have had a vasectomy (surgery that prevents a man from causing a pregnancy). Employ the contraceptive while you are taking Lenome 25mg Capsule, during any breaks in your treatment, and for 4 weeks after your final dose.
