Description:

Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of angina (heart-related chest pain). It works by reducing the heart rate and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.

It is advised to take Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet with food at a fixed time each day to maintain consistent levels of medicine in the blood. In case you have missed any doses, take it as soon as you remember it. Never skip any doses and finish a full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to the doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.

The most common side effects of this medicine include slow heart rate, tiredness, and blurred vision These are usually mild but let your doctor know if they bother you or last more than a few days. You may be asked for regular monitoring of blood pressure,  heart rate, and blood glucose level while taking this medicine.  Avoid driving or attention-seeking activity while taking this medicine.

Earlier taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease. You must tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. You should also let your healthcare team know all other medicines you are taking as they may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet is to be taken with food.

Side Effects:

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Alcohol

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet.
Pregnancy

Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet may cause transient luminous phenomena. This should be taken into account especially when driving at night.
Kidney
CAUTION
Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ivabrad M 5/50 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver
