    Description:

    Harmoni-F Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), as it helps to regularize the menstrual cycle. It also treats severe acne and hirsutism (excess hair growth, mainly on face and chest) in women.

    Harmoni-F Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as per your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. It also works as a contraceptive, so better to avoid taking any other hormonal pills while taking this medicine.

    The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, stomach pain, headache, breast pain, and mood changes. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Usually, missing a dose may cause spotting or brown discharge in the middle of the cycle. Let your doctor know if this occurs frequently. Consult with your doctor immediately if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain or changes in vision. Do not continue with the medicine and consult with the doctor if your periods do not start within a week of the treatment.

    Earlier taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you smoke and are over 35, or if you have ever had a heart attack or have cancer of uterus/cervix, or vagina. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Avoid the use of medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

    Directions For Use:

    Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Harmoni-F Tablet may be taken with or without food.

    Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

    What is Harmoni-F Tablet?

    Harmoni-F Tablet is a combination of two hormonal medicines Cyproterone and Ethinyl Estradiol along with folic acid. It treats PCOS symptoms such as acne, excessive hair growth (hirsutism) and irregular periods. Cyproterone works by blocking the overproduction of androgens (male hormones) in the ovaries, thereby reducing unwanted hair growth and acne. Ethinyl Estradiol enhances the effect of Cyproterone by reducing the amount of androgens in the blood circulation.

    How and in what dose should I take Harmoni-F Tablet?

    Harmoni-F Tablet has to be started on day 1 or 2 of your natural cycle (first day of menstrual bleeding). Take it as per the duration advised by your doctor. However, it is recommended to take it at the same time each day. This will ensure consistent levels of medicine in your body.

    What if I miss to take Harmoni-F Tablet?

    If you miss a dose, you should take it as soon as possible. If the dose was missed by more than 12 hours, you should not take the missed dose and simply continue the usual dosing schedule. However, to prevent pregnancy another non-hormonal birth control (like condoms) method should be used during this cycle. Frequent missing of dose, may also cause unexpected vaginal bleeding or spotting (blood stain). If it lasts long, consult your doctor.

    What if I vomit after few hours of taking Harmoni-F Tablet?

    If vomiting occurs within 3-4 hours of taking the tablet, you must repeat the dose.

    Does Harmoni-F Tablet also work as a contraceptive?

    Affirmative, if taken as advised, Harmoni-F Tablet also act as a contraceptive. Discontinue using any other birth control pills while taking Harmoni-F Tablet.

    What are the common side effects which I can experience while taking Harmoni-F Tablet ?

    The most common side effects associated with Harmoni-F Tablet are nausea, stomach pain, increased weight, headache, altered mood, and breast pain. Most of these symptoms are temporary. However, if they persist, check with your doctor as soon as possible.

    How long will Harmoni-F Tablet take to reduce acne?

    Usually, you will be able to notice improvements in 3-4 weeks. However, it is important to finish the full course of treatment to see its full benefit. Inform your doctor if your acne did not get cured even after finishing the full course of treatment.
