Description:

Grilinctus Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat cough. It thins mucus in the nose, windpipe, and lungs, making it easier to cough out. It also provides relief from a runny nose, watery eyes, and throat irritation.

Grilinctus Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back, and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking, as some may affect, or be affected by, this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea, stomach pain, vomiting, headache, and rash. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine may cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can make dizziness worse.

Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Earlier you start taking this medicine, it is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease. You should tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.

What is Grilinctus Syrup?

Grilinctus Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Ammonium chloride, chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan and guaifenesin which relieves cough. Ammonium chloride and guaifenesin are expectorants which decrease the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and help in its removal from the airways. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain.

Can the use of Grilinctus Syrup cause dryness in mouth?

Affirmative, the use of Grilinctus Syrup can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.

Can the use of Grilinctus Syrup cause dizziness?

Affirmative, the use of Grilinctus Syrup can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better.

Can the use of Grilinctus Syrup cause diarrhea?

Affirmative, the use of Grilinctus Syrup can cause diarrhea. In case of diarrhea, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Also, avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medication. Communicate to your doctor if diarrhea persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like less urination with dark colored and strong-smelling urine. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to your doctor.

Can the use of Grilinctus Syrup cause nausea and vomiting?

Affirmative, the use of Grilinctus Syrup can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods with this medication. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Communicate to your doctor if vomiting persists and if you notice signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to your doctor.
