Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops is a medicine used to treat bacterial infections of the eye and ear. It kills and prevents the growth of infection-causing bacteria. This way it relieves the symptoms and speeds up the healing process.
Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops is to be used only in the affected eye or ear. Read the label carefully for instruction before you use the medicine. Employ it in the exact dose and duration as advised by the doctor or as instructed in the label. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Do not use too much or too little. Total your dose even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may bring back the infection. Employ of this medicine may cause burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your nose or mouth, rinse it off with plenty of water.
Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.

Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.

What is the use of Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops?
Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops is used to treat bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis, and to treat infection or injury of the external ear canal. It may also be used to treat swelling, itchiness, and dryness in and around the ear canal.
Are there any serious side effects of Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops?
The serious side effect, yet not so common, is increased pressure in the eye (intraocular pressure), and eighth cranial nerve toxicity that manifests symptoms like ringing in the ears (tinnitus), vertigo, or hearing disturbance. However, for eye use, the risk increases if you have a family history of glaucoma, myopia (short-sightedness), or diabetes. Also, Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops contains a steroid, and prolonged eye use (for more than 10 days) of a medicine containing a steroid increases the risk of cataract (clouding of the eye lens).
Can Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops be used with contact lenses?
You should remove contact lenses before using Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops. Do not use Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops or any other eye medicine while wearing contact lenses if it contains a preservative called benzalkonium chloride (BAK), as BAK can damage the lenses or alter their properties. Forever wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting your lenses after using Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops.
How quickly does Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops work?
The exact time Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops takes to show results is not known. However, you may start noticing improvement in eye symptoms within 2 days of use. The full effects may take a few days to weeks to appear. For ear use, your doctor may reassess the need for Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops after 5–7 days of treatment to monitor for ototoxicity, and continue regular evaluations thereafter.
What should I avoid while using Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops?
You should avoid touching the Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops tip to your eye, ear, or any surface to prevent contamination. Do not use Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops if the medicine changes color or becomes cloudy. After using Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops in the eye, you may experience temporary blurred vision, and you should not drive until your vision clears. Increaseitionally, to prevent contamination and cross-infection, do not use the same Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops for both ear and eye infections. Also, do not share Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops with others, as this can spread infection.
Can I still use Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops if the bottle is open but not yet expired?
You can use unopened (seal-packed) Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops until its expiry date. However, once opened, use it within 28 days (4 weeks), even if it has not expired. Discard any remaining medicine after this period. Also, make sure to store Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops below 30°C, keeping it away from light.
Who should not use Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops?
Individuals should not use Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops if they are allergic to any of the ingredients present in Gentosa B Eye/Ear Drops, have viral or fungal infections of the eye such as herpes, or if there is an absence or hole in the eardrum (perforated tympanic membrane).
