Description:

Eupan 40 Tablet is a medicine that reduces the amount of acid produced in your stomach. It is used for treating acid-related diseases of the stomach and intestine such as heartburn, acid reflux, and peptic ulcer disease. It provides relief from the symptoms and promotes healing.

Eupan 40 Tablet is also used to prevent stomach ulcers and acidity that may be seen with the prolonged use of painkillers. It belongs to a class of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). This medicine should be taken one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning. The dose will depend on your underlying condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep on taking it as prescribed even if your symptoms disappear quickly. You can increase the efficiency of the treatment by eating smaller meals more often and avoiding caffeinated drinks (like tea and coffee), and spicy or fatty foods.

The most common side effects observed with this medicine include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, flatulence, diarrhea, and stomach pain. These symptoms are generally mild but if they bother you or do not go away, consult your doctor. Long-term use of this medicine may lead to an increased risk of side effects. For instance, using this medicine for more than 1 year may increase your risk for bone fractures, especially with higher doses. Communicate to your doctor about ways to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis), like taking calcium and vitamin D supplements.

Earlier taking this medicine, you need to tell your doctor if you have severe liver problems, are taking medicines for HIV, have ever had an allergic reaction to similar medicines in the past, or suffer from bone loss (osteoporosis). Eupan 40 Tablet is used for the treatment of peptic ulcer disease, reflux esophagitis or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Eupan 40 Tablet prevents acidity associated with use of painkillers. It works by reducing the amount of acid made by your stomach and thus relieves your symptoms.

How long does it take for Eupan 40 Tablet to work?

You should start to feel better within 2 to 3 days. It may take up to 4 weeks for Eupan 40 Tablet to work properly so you may still have some symptoms during this time.

What are the long term side effects of Eupan 40 Tablet?

The most important of these is low magnesium levels in your blood which may make you feel tired, confused, dizzy, shaky, or dizzy. You may also have muscle twitches or irregular heartbeat. If the use is further prolonged for more than a year, you may have an increased risk of bone fractures, stomach infections, and vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 deficiency can make you anemic, as a result of which you may feel more tired, weak, or pale. Increaseitionally, you may have palpitations, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, indigestion, loss of appetite, flatulence (gas), or nerve problems such as numbness, tingling, and problem in walking.

What is the best time to take Eupan 40 Tablet?

Usually, Eupan 40 Tablet is taken once a day, first thing in the morning. If you take Eupan 40 Tablet twice a day, take 1 dose in the morning and 1 dose in the evening. The tablets should be swallowed whole (remember not to be chewed or crushed) and taken at least 1 hour before a meal with some water.

Can I stop taking Eupan 40 Tablet if I feel better?

If you have been taking Eupan 40 Tablet for a long time. Stopping it abruptly may lead to increased acid production, thereby worsening your symptoms. Therefore, you must discuss any dose changes or if you wish to come off Eupan 40 Tablet.
