Description:

Diaraheal Syrup is usually given to children to treat acute diarrhea caused due to bacterial infections. It helps relieve the symptoms, severity, and duration of illness by killing the diarrhea-causing microorganism and reducing the loss of water and electrolytes.

Donate Diaraheal Syrup to your child orally either before or after food in the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. Usually, it is prescribed two times a day, in the morning and at bedtime. However, this dosing may vary depending upon your child’s symptoms, body weight, and age. Never double the dose to catch for the missed dose. However, you will have to repeat the dose if your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Diaraheal Syrup. Refrain from repeating the dose if it is time for the next dose.

Some of the minor and short-term side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, skin rash, and itching. These episodes almost always subside on their own once the child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in case they persist for long or start bothering your child, you must consult your child’s doctor without any delay.

Your child’s doctor must be aware if your child has ever had any previous episode of allergy, bowel obstruction, electrolyte imbalance, heart problem, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This will guide the doctor in planning your child’s overall treatment.

Directions For Use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Diaraheal Syrup may be taken with or without food.

Side Effects:

Diaraheal Syrup does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Consult your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or bother your child. The most common side effects include-

What if I give too much Diaraheal Syrup by mistake?

Though an extra dose of Diaraheal Syrup is unlikely to harm, you must immediately speak to the doctor Overdose may cause unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregularities of heartbeat). So, if you think you have given too much to your child, rush to your child’s doctor on an immediate basis.

My child has milk intolerance. Can I give Diaraheal Syrup to my child?

It is not advised to give Diaraheal Syrup to children who are intolerant to dairy products/milk as Diaraheal Syrup contains lactose.

Can other medicines be given at the same time as Diaraheal Syrup?

Diaraheal Syrup can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Diaraheal Syrup. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.

Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Diaraheal Syrup ?

Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.

My child is suffering from long-term (chronic) diarrhea. Can I give Diaraheal Syrup?

The use of Diaraheal Syrup in chronic diarrhea has not been sufficiently studied. Therefore, it is best to consult your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
