What is Frigidfil Syrup used for?

Frigidfil Syrup is a combination medicine containing paracetamol, phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine maleate, sodium citrate, and menthol. It is mainly used to relieve symptoms of the common cold, such as blocked nose, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, cough, and mild fever.

Can Frigidfil Syrup cause serious side effects?

Although they are rare, serious side effects of Frigidfil Syrup may include liver damage, severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, difficulty in breathing, rapid heartbeat, hallucinations, or convulsions. If any of these occur, medical help should be sought immediately.

Who should not take Frigidfil Syrup?

Frigidfil Syrup should not be used in children or adults who are allergic to any of its ingredients, have severe high blood pressure, serious liver or kidney problems, heart disease, or glaucoma. It must also be avoided if the patient is currently taking medicines called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

Is Frigidfil Syrup safe for children?

Frigidfil Syrup is usually prescribed for children between 2 and 12 years old, but the dose depends on age and body weight. It should not be given to children below 2 years unless advised by a doctor. Forever follow the pediatrician’s dosage instructions carefully to prevent overdose.

Why should Frigidfil Syrup not be used with other cough and cold medicines?

Frigidfil Syrup already contains multiple active ingredients for cold and flu relief. Taking it along with other cough and cold medicines, especially those containing paracetamol or antihistamines, can increase the risk of overdose and serious side effects.
