Description:

Cefamy Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections in your body. It is effective in infections of the lungs (e.g., pneumonia), ear, throat, nasal sinus, urinary tract, skin, soft tissues, bones, and joints. It is also used to prevent infections during surgery.

Cefamy Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you remember to take it. The dose will depend on what you are being treated for and the severity of your condition. Make sure to complete the full course. It will not work for viral infections such as the flu or the common cold. Using any antibiotic when you do not need it can make it less effective for future infections.


The most common side effects of this medicine include rash, vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. These are usually mild, but let your doctor know if they bother you or last more than a few days.


Earlier using it, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotics or have any kidney or liver problems. How long does Cefamy Tablet take to work?

The amount of time Cefamy Tablet takes to work depends on the type of infection and response of the patient to the medicine. The antibiotic may start working after you take it but for maximum effect it may require some time. Usually, the symptoms of bacterial infections start to decrease in 48 to 72 hours after starting the medication.

How long should you take Cefamy Tablet?

The duration of therapy with Cefamy Tablet depends upon the type of infection. It is usually given for 7 days. It ranges from 5 to 10 days and depends on the response of the infection in the patient. Can Cefamy Tablet treat UTI?

Affirmative, Cefamy Tablet can be used to treat urinary tract infection (UTI). But, it is prescribed only in cases of uncomplicated UTIs for 7 to 10 days.
