Description:

Bilafav Syrup is an anti-allergic medicine. It is given to children to treat a wide range of symptoms associated with allergic conditions such as hay fever, urticaria (hives), conjunctivitis (red, itchy eye), and the common cold. These symptoms may include watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and itching.

Bilafav Syrup can be taken one hour before or two hours after food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Remember dosage is decided on the basis of the type of medicine (tablet or syrup ), age, and present medical condition of the person. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. If you do not observe any improvement in the symptoms, consult with the doctor.
The most common side effects of this medicine include headaches and drowsiness. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Generally, it is advised to drink plenty of fluids while on treatment with this medicine. To overcome dizziness, avoid driving or attention-seeking activities until you know how the medicine affects you.
Earlier taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you are pregnant, or breastfeeding. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works.  You must avoid fruit juice before taking the medicine.

Directions For Use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Bilafav Syrup is to be taken on an empty stomach.

Side Effects:

Bilafav Syrup does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Consult your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or bother your child. The most common side effects include-

Bilafav Syrup is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment is recommended.
Liver
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Bilafav Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data suggest dose adjustment may not be needed.

My child is restless and unable to sleep properly at night. Can I give Bilafav Syrup?

No, although this medicine causes drowsiness as a side effect, it should not be given to induce sleep in children. Consult your child’s doctor if your child has trouble sleeping as it could be due to some other underlying condition.

My child is 2 years old and suffering from skin allergies. Is it safe to give Bilafav Syrup?

Securety studies of Bilafav Syrup in children less than 6 years of age are not available. Therefore, it is advised to avoid giving Bilafav Syrup to children under 6 years and consult your child’s doctor in case of any confusion.

Can other medicines be given at the same time as Bilafav Syrup?

How much Bilafav Syrup should I give to my child?

What if I give too much of Bilafav Syrup by mistake?

Although Bilafav Syrup is relatively safe to use in children yet an excessive amount may cause some serious side effects such as seizures, hallucinations, rapid heart rate, irritability, slow breathing, and coma.

Where should I store Bilafav Syrup at home?

Store Bilafav Syrup at room temperature, in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Retain all medicines out of the reach and sight of children to avoid any accidental intake.
