Description:

Omnacortil Oral Drops belongs to a class of medicines called steroids. It helps treat certain types of allergies, inflammatory conditions, autoimmune disorders, hormonal disorders, and even cancer in children. It is also the treatment of choice after organ transplantation and for Nephrotic syndrome in children.

Donate Omnacortil Oral Drops to your child with food. The usually prescribed frequency is once daily, preferably in the morning after breakfast. The dose of this medication will depend on your child’s clinical condition, body weight, age, and treatment response. Employ Omnacortil Oral Drops only for the recommended duration of time. Do not prolong its use, more than recommended as that may lead to increased side effects. Also, do not stop giving this medicine suddenly. Sudden withdrawal may affect the ongoing treatment and the child may exhibit withdrawal symptoms such as dizziness, vomiting, and thirst. The dose needs to be gradually reduced before stopping it completely. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Omnacortil Oral Drops, let the child calm down, and then give the same dose again.
The most common side effects associated with the use of Omnacortil Oral Drops include increased appetite, weight gain, increased blood pressure, and behavioral and mood changes. Many of these usually go away once the treatment is stopped. However, in case these persist or start bothering your child, consult your child’s doctor without any delay. Taking Omnacortil Oral Drops can also make it harder for your child to fight off infections. Tell the doctor if your child shows any signs of infection such as fever or sore throat.
Never practice self-medication, always consult your child’s doctor for advice. Your child’s doctor must be aware of your child’s entire medical history, including any previous episode of allergy, heart problem, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. Having an insight into your child’s overall health will help. This will guide the doctor in planning your child’s overall treatment.
