Monrex LC Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of allergic symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, watery eyes and congestion or stuffiness. It also reduces inflammation in the airways and make breathing easier. Monrex LC Tablet is a combination of anti-allergic drugs, consisting of two medicines: Levocetirizine and Montelukast, primarily used to treat allergic symptoms. Levocetirizine blocks the effects of a chemical messenger known as 'histamine,' which is naturally involved in allergic reactions. It helps relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling, congestion, or stiffness. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist, which blocks a chemical messenger (leukotriene) and reduces inflammation and swelling in the nose. Collectively, both of them help to improve symptoms and relieve allergic symptoms.
Monrex LC Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Monrex LC Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Common side effects of Monrex LC
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Please inform your doctor if you have a problem passing urine and have epilepsy (fits) before starting Monrex LC Tablet. If you are supposed to undergo skin testing, the doctor might advise you to stop taking Monrex LC Tablet 72 hours before the test as it decreases response to skin prick test. Patients should be cautioned against getting engaged in work that requires too much mental alertness, like operating machinery or driving a motor vehicle after intake of Monrex LC Tablet. Please consult your doctor immediately if you experience aggression, anxiety, or depression after taking Monrex LC Tablet. It is advised to avoid contact with known allergens (allergy-causing agents) such as pollen, dust, etc. Certain food items are known to cause allergies to you. Concurrent use of Monrex LC Tablet with alcohol or other antidepressants should be avoided to reduce your mental alertness. Even if you are asymptomatic and feel good, do not stop taking the Monrex LC Tablet as it stopping abruptly may lead to an acute attack of asthma.
Driving
Monrex LC Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
Monrex LC Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Monrex LC Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Monrex LC Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
Monrex LC Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Monrex LC Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
